The Secret To Aggressive Dog Training

Aggressive dog training – do you need it for your dog? How can you tell? Well, aggressive dog training can be needed for a number of reasons. Maybe your dog is only obeying your commands as and when he or she feels like. Maybe your dog never obeys your commands. This is a sign of dominant behavior. Does your dog growl and bark when s/he is nervous? This could also turn into aggressive behavior and must be addressed.

If your dog has tendency to be territorial, you may need some aggressive dog training. Signs of being territorial are: growling and barking when someone comes near the property, acting possessively about their food bowl or toys or even you, fighting with other dogs or chasing after animals, cars and other dogs.

Being constantly stressed out from aggressive behaviour is bad for any animal, including humans and dogs. Your dog won’t grow out of aggressive behaviour, and you shouldn’t feel flattered because he’s ‘protecting’ the yard because he shouldn’t be in charge of anywhere, you should be in charge of your dog and his environment. If this aggressive behaviour isn’t checked, he could hurt someone or himself.

For example, sometimes owners of small dogs are overly protective of their dogs and this results in the little dog displaying the same behaviour to gain affection. Try to correct this with aggressive dog training.

Depriving your dog of time with you is a great way to correct his behavior. Try the time out method, which means that each time he is aggressive, just tell him no and leave him alone for half a minute or so. This is extremely effective with dogs.

If your dog barks and everything and everyone who passes by your yard, try muzzling him each time for a short while until he gets the idea that you don’t want him to do that. Of course, each time he becomes quiet, heap praise and reward on him and remove the muzzle.

When you see this type of behavior, it is up to you to lead the way for your dog with aggressive dog training. He won’t change anything until you do.

Are you consistent? Do you consistently correct bad behavior and reward good? Or do you sometimes let it slide? Fair and consistent are the two secrets here. Before you decide that you need to start aggressive dog training, check that you are even doing any training at all?
