Home Water Purifiers And Filters Take A break From Toxins

There are many home water purifiers and filters being sold today. Choosing the right brand can be difficult and confusing. The prices cause even more confusion. Whats the difference between a $40 system and an $800 system? Thats the price range that you will see. Heres what you do and dont need when it comes to water purification.

The first thing I’ll start with saying, is that you do not need Japanese rocks. If you have heard the claims that have been made by the company, they are unverifiable.

The second thing that a lot of families worry about is if they have a well. The first thing that you need if you have a well is check and see exactly what is present in your supply and see which water purifiers get rid of them. Reverse Osmosis is another thing you do not need, and if you go to a professional it is something that is often recommended but very rarely necessary.

There are so many different bacteria and other things that riddle tap water that you really need to find a filtration system that will work for what your water contains. You see, you want to remove all the bad stuff in the water but you do not want to get rid of the minerals that are good for you body.

The thing that most people do not understand is that public supplies of water usually contain a lot of contaminants. The treatment facilities in your town will filter out most of them but not all of them. Not to long ago there was an article posted in the USA today about the tap water taken from homes around the US contained high levels of weed killer and bug spray.

The most commonly used pesticides and herbicides in the US are known carcinogens. Many of them have been banned by the European Union. But, farms and lawn-care experts are spraying them freely in the US. Only a few home water purifiers and filters will remove alachlor, lindane and Atrazine, the most common weed and bug killers.

With that said, there are some people around the US that do not know what they are looking for because public supply testing facilities do not have report their results leaving you clueless as to whats in your water. Knowing that you will be very unhappy to know that there have been recent tests have shown that there has been some water in the U.S. that has been tested and shown positive results for prescription drugs.

There is another type of contaminant that has been found in water is actually caused by the treatment methods themselves. The chemicals that have been used for disinfecting cause the formation of cancer causing compounds known as THMs or trihalomethanes.

The big difference in the more expensive brands of home water purifiers is what all the water filtering systems gets rid of. Most of your more expensive brands of water filters remove these THM’s, where the less expensive brands only reduce the chlorine.

Looking back as I said earlier the cost can vary anywhere from $40 to $800, and you will surprised that some of the best ones only cost around $125. These are the ones that have 3 stages of filtering so that all the contaminants that riddle your water everyday can be eliminated simply by running your water through it daily.
