Digital Photo Frames Vs Traditional Photos and Frames

One of the hottest things to come out of the technology market is the digital photo frame. It offers a large range of features and is probably one of the best ways to share photos with your family and friends. So, how do they work and are they better than the traditional option of choosing select photos and placing them in frames? Well, let’s find out.

Digital photo frames work by using a LCD display and usually a USB or similar connection that allows you to upload photos directly to the console which are then displayed on a rotation or slideshow effect. There are various different sizes that you can buy and you can also choose different photo frames depending on how many photos you want to be displayed.

For example, if you only have a few photos then you won’t need a large capacity but if you want to display a constant slideshow of perhaps 100 photos or more then it’s worth buying a large capacity one. Usually, the capacity is based on how many photos can be stored at any one time.

The thing about digital photo frames is that you can have a range of different photos on display at any one time. The slideshow effect offers a stylish way to present photos in your home and it certainly looks stylish and high tech. However, traditional photos can be effective as well if you choose a good frame and a good photo.

So what are the differences? To be honest, the majority of people do have a large range of photos that they’d like to be on display and the cost of traditional frames is high. This means that to display a large range of traditional photos, you’re going to have to spend more and therefore, the digital photo frame is a better option. It’s lower in cost and recently the cost of a stylish digital photo frame has reduced even more.

All in all, if you have a large number of photos to show off then a digital photo frame could be right for you. However, if you don’t use a digital camera, or you don’t have that many photos then digital photo frames will be pretty pointless so it really depends on your own personal needs and tastes.
