Avoiding Infecting People Around You When You Have Colds

It’s not cute to have runny nose and watery eyes. That is why it is best to ask your date for a rain check if you can’t clean your eyes and nose with both efficacy and elegance. You might just spoil the moment altogether and even infect your date. Don’t expect a follow-up date if that happens.

Not everyone can get colds and still seem posh and elegant. Most of the time people portray a picture of a sickly train wreck during sickly times. You can get away with appearing graceful, if only a little pale and weak, with fever. But with sicknesses such as colds, sore eyes, cough, and others, it’s a challenge to look like your regular self when your eyes and nose are too fluffy and red and you cough or sneeze every now and then.

No, you can’t dupe others that you are not sick if you have complaints with your nose and throat. There will be those who will look at you as if you have a bug that can expose them. Of course you have. So don’t take offense when you receive stares like that. It’s not personal, I assure you.

What you can do is be conscious of how you conduct your actions while you are ill. Not all of us can have a day off from work when we have simple colds and can still function, albeit slowly. Just be aware of how you interact in public and be aware of your hygiene always.

People may mistake your excessive coughing with a far worse malady than just a dry cough. During these times, it’s best to cover your mouth with a clean handkerchief to muffle your cough and prevent spreading the germs.

Colds can be a hassle to have even for merely a few hours so arm yourself with tissue and correctly discard them after you use them so you won’t spread the germs around. Also always wash your hands and have antibacterial wipes ready.

Maintaining a personal hygiene isn’t only for appearance’s sake. Yes, it will keep you from further being a pariah and from potential embarrassment, but maintaining good hygiene can keep us getting ill once more in the future and avoid spreading your sickness to others. Because, if you think about it, no one wants to get close with a sickly and filthy person.
